I gotta quit staying up late! 2AM is only like 6 and a half hours before I have to get up to go to work… and my body/brain does NOT agree with not getting 8 hours sleep apparently… lol. I’m dragging today!
So last night was fun. The wifey and I went out to Outback for dinner. It was yum. They have a new Steak & Shrimp Scampi dish… their Scampi is probably the best I’ve ever eaten. SO GOOD!
We hung out at home with Jess and Chris-ee-TEE-ta and I jailbroke his iPod touch. It’s officially annoying. I guess since he just got it and it already had 3.1.2 and updated firmware that he can do only a “tethered” jailbreak. Which I find udderly pointless. Having to plug it in and “make it rain” every stupid time he has to reboot is pretty annoying. It would be COMPLETELY worthless to have your phone like that. Glad ours aren’t! :) I helped Meg customize all of her speed dials on her spring board and finish creating her buttons and stuff. For today. Until we change them again. Heh.
The new year is off to a great start! The position that I’ve been waiting for at work finally posted and I’m going to get all of my paperwork in for the promotion today. Fingers crossed! My sup says I’m a shoo-in. Yay!
I’ve had just about enough of this cold weather, that’s for sure. Makes my bones feel like an old man. It’s neat to see all of the ice everywhere though. Under all the trees, on the roof. We had frost this morning in the pasture that looked like snow! Pretty cool.
Well, zee break is almost over. On the way to the machine for a Diet Coke refill!

in the english dictionary is:
zyzzyva
zyz·zy·va (zĭz’ e-vay)
n. Any of various tropical American weevils of the genus Zyzzyva, often destructive to plants.
You gotta have it! The last word for the last day of the year. Happy 2010!
Can’t wait for an awesome night, and an even more awesome coming year!

[Yes, I'm talking about your wife.]
________
It’s really hard to go back to work after being off for 6 days straight!
Christmas was wonderful. Good time with family and friends. Funny how as we grow older it seems better to give than to receive. Kinda cliche I guess, but I enjoy giving gifts more than I do actually getting them. I guess as you grow up the “toys” become less and less important. Well, to most people I guess. My dad still seems to love his 52″ Sanyo flat screen more than life. He’s not obsessed with it at least. I’m content with having things that are within my means and feeling like a live a balanced life, without all the frills. (Not saying that I don’t adore my new blu-ray player… lol.)
So I’ve been reading Sarah Palin’s book, Going Rogue. I must say, it’s very interesting. She kept very detailed journals over her whole life, so it’s neat to see what her reactions were to different things that happened through the campaign trail in 2008. The funniest I think is her reactions to guest starring on SNL opposite Tina Fey. Makes for a good read. There’s not many books that I finish in 4 days… so.
I loooove this cold weather. Kinda gives me the itch to want to be outside, though. Which is great when I’m off, but not so good when I’m stuck inside. Lol. I just want to play around with my air rifle, but it seems like it’s always raining or I have to work! AAAH! :)
Welp, TTFN. Or is that trademarked, too?
ConGRADulations. December 13, 2009

Yes, I know it’s conGRATulations. I can spell. The intentional misspelling is in honor of Ashley Marie Huffman, who after 5 1/2 years of hard ass-busting work, is a college graduate! We are proud of you. The festivities today were great, and it was pretty cool seeing an acquitted (but probable) terrorist Yousef Megahead graduate! NOT! Just ask Megan about the machine guns. Got to love it.
The wifey and I went to see the Chrismas Program/Cantata/thing at our old church and my former employer this evening. I must say, I was pretty disappointed. It’s really gone downhill the last 4 years or so, and tonight was just a whole new level of it. I’m not really going to elaborate, as it’s not really my place to judge. I could just tell that media/sound, etc. doesn’t really seem to be a priority there anymore. It’s pretty disheartening, seeing all that you’d worked for full and part time, and as a volunteer for the last 8 years going to that. Oh well, I guess. Someone else’s problem to worry about now. I must say, however— It was pretty entertaining to see the look of panic on a certain person’s face when I walked in. Her grandson spotted me as I entered, and made sure he ran right over and gave her a sign. The eye contact was classic. I should have shown her a sign of my own. I SHOULD have ran up and given her a big ‘ol hug and chatted about life! THAT would have been funny.
I love the fact that she was caught in the web of ONE side of the story. At least I have the satisfaction of knowing that her “closed door meeting” with the guy in charge to talk about “an obvious injustice” led to NOTHING. Funny what a little bit of black and white evidence will do. Hahaha… and it’s also great to hear out of the mouth of said guy in charge that he feels the character of those web-spinners is despicable, that their lies and slander caused their demise—nothing else. And of course, the fact that he would “love to have us back, any time,” helps a whole lot, too.
Bucs game tomorrow with my Dad, brother, and brother-in-law. It should be fun. I mean, there’s no hope for a win, but it’ll be a fun afternoon, I’m sure either way.
12 Days of Christmas starts tomorrow. I can’t wait. :)
Burrr… It’s cold in here! December 11, 2009

So anyone else COMPLETELY love the cold weather this morning? So crisp and nice outside. A shame that it’ll be 80 degrees again on Sunday. I talked to a customer in North Dakota this morning. He said that they’re doing good to stay above zero degrees. ZERO! Can you believe that? I don’t even know how to imagine how cold that is. Like, the 40s is COLD to me. I don’t know how they do it.
I’m excited to meet with the flooring people tonight! Have a sales person coming… we’re probably putting new floors in the kitchen and living room, and maybe the bathrooms if the price is right. We shall see.
Today’s busy at work! YUCK!

Weather is so dumb sometimes. Whatever. Cancel the Christmas parade! Don’t reschedule! No one wants to go anyway! BAH!
One more day this week. SOOO ready for the weekend. I can’t wait for the cooler weather to get here!
I wake up every morning… December 1, 2009

Usually with a grunt and a moan, about 4 minutes before the alarm goes off. It’s kinda my thing, I guess. Never making it all the way to the buzzer. Kinda good I guess, cause it’s less shocking to the system that way. This morning I rolled out of bed, greeted the puppies, and then noticed that I was singing the 12 days of Christmas. Don’t know where it came from—and the homorous part is that I don’t know all the words. So the whole time I’m getting ready for work this morning, I’m trying to figure out how many maids were milking and drummers drumming… and then of course enjoying the late Povaratti-style “5 Golden Rings.” Needless to say, I don’t think I ever had the right things with the right numbers.
Traffic was a BEAR this morning. It was AWFUL! I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been running late due to traffic, but this morning was one of those “How slow can everyone drive?” days.
Work is busy. Strangely busy. I guess everyone’s finally out of their Turkey comas.
Looking forward to New Super Mario Brothers WII tonight! Yay! It’s terrific!

Every body’s feeling fine… Remember that song?
So I sit at work. It’s late, as I swapped with a friend due to a doctor’s appointment. We’re so slow that I’ve run out of things to do. You can only read the same articles on TBO over and over so many times. One thing great about working here is that everyone is seated by time, so all of my teammates work pretty much the same schedule and are usually within earshot of me. That doesn’t work very well when you work an odd shift, though, as it’s quite lonely all by myself over here.
The Christmas tree in the doughnut is finally done. It’s about 15 feet tall, and is decorated, logically, with red and silver ornaments. I thought it’d be cool to decorate it with Coke and Diet Coke aluminum bottles.
I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas! What a year it’s been. Hoping that the cold weather will come and stick around a little bit. Strange how much the engraving on your desk clock can make you think!
Looking forward to spectating Christmas and Church Street Christmas events this year without having to “do” anything. It’ll be the first time in 9 years that I haven’t been involved with it. Kind of bittersweet. More sweet than bitter. Apparently it’s gone from being moved till the weekend before Christmas, back to the traditional 21st, 21nd, 23rd. Sounded like some lazy clergyman teamed up with a money hungry multi-level marketing guy to make it “more convenient.” Got to love it. [I mean, they're right. It sure seems that Christmas should be family time, and not a time to celebrate and promote the birth of Christ. What are you, a CHURCH??? I've never quite understood why it should be permissable to want so much "free time" during the Christmas season. It's like being a professional football player and wanting to make sure that you have the last half of January off. Sure, take the time off. We won't see you in the Superbowl any time soon.] Wow. That turned into a little bit of a rant there! It’ll be interesting to see what happens. People don’t often realize how much sweat equity went into something until someone else has to do it. Especially when the collared folk might have to get their hands dirty! Don’t miss any of the drama, that’s for SURE.
I’m going to try to start blogging again. Like, daily. My love affair with current events and news has grown, especially into the political spectrum. And we all know, there’s no lack of things to discuss there!
Pretty Lame Closing.
